ZF Digital Summit 2023. Daniel Rusu, senior partner, Corporate Intelligence Agency: Digitalization helps us grow, but fraud will exist as long as humans exist. As long as humans will generate fraud, digitalization and artificial intelligence will be tools

Daniel Rusu, senior partner, Corporate Intelligence Agency, said at the ZF Digital Summit 2023 conference that in the context of digitization, regardless of whether we can use artificial intelligence, we will not be safe from fraud.

"Digitalization helps us to develop, to evolve, but fraud will exist as long as man exists. I don't think we will encounter artificial intelligence that generates fraud. Artificial intelligence will not do things on its own. As long as man will generate fraud, digitalization and artificial intelligence will be tools. This year we heard about a company that was defrauded in a case where the CEO was called by a shareholder asking for money and the CEO wired the money. To this day he still doesn't know if it was a case of a false voice or a classic case of fraud. Whether it's digitalization, whether it's artificial intelligence, we will not be safe from fraud," said Daniel Rusu.

He explained that there are three kinds of companies: those that are defrauded, those that don't know they are defrauded and those that don't recognize they are defrauded.

"This is happening everywhere, the point is that we can no longer ignore the phenomenon. Some $4.7 trillion, or 5% of total corporate revenue is fraud."
